My story started in 2000 when I turned 30. I was 137lbs.
My clothes were fitting good, I loved to go shopping, I loved to hang out with my friends and I felt really good inside as well. But, there was one problem that turned into several.
That one problem was that I was NOT ACTIVE. And because I was getting older, being inactive as well was not a good combination….and it started to show.
By the time I had my daughter in 2002, I was weighing in at 163lbs. I had gained 26lbs in 2 years and I was very unhappy. I stopped shopping, I stopped hanging out with my friends, I stopped feeling good about myself but did nothing about it.
All I did was eat EVERYTHING. I started getting backaches, sinus infections and colds all the time. I was a hot mess!!!
In 2006, I decided to take responsibility for what I was eating. I stopped eating meats and became a full blown vegetarian. I cut out all dairy products (except blue cheese and pizza OCCASIONALLY)….
….and my I never got a sinus infection again….who wouldathunk? By the end of 2006, I was venturing off into my ‘RAW Food World’ and I was loving it. I loved it so much that I decided to take a Raw Food Class.
And guess what? I BECAME A CERTIFIED RAW FOOD CHEF!!! I was excited!!
I know you’re probably wondering what Raw Food is….
In a nutshell, it’s Raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and sprouted grains (NO RAW ANIMAL PRODUCTS – Totally Plant Based). I started making all of these wonderful dishes like Raw Spaghetti, Raw Ravioli, Raw Pizza, Raw Ice Cream, Raw Tacos, Raw Pies, Raw Garlic Bread, Raw Rice, Raw Mock Salmon, Raw Crackers and all of these different RAW dishes.
It literally blew my mind how many dishes I can make with fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and sprouted grain. The reason why a person would want to eat everything RAW is because all of the nutrients and enzymes are not destroyed like how they are when you cook them.
And I felt FANTASTIC living this way. I was 100% Raw for about 8 months and lost 29 lbs. But, it was HARD!
Let’ me explain…
I was tempted so many times during the Holiday’s and Special Occasions, even going out to eat was a challenge. It became harder and harder. Then one day, I just gave up.
I started carefully transitioning back to some cooked foods…. I even started eating meat again. I felt that something was missing in my life. I started falling off…AGAIN!
Can you guess what happened next?
YOU GUESSED IT!
Fast forward to October 16, 2010….I weighed in at 180lbs. I was TOTALLY MISERABLE. And the fact that I worked from home on the computer, totally inactive once again….did not help at all. I needed a change. And I needed it bad!
So, I decided to practice my Raw Food Eating Habits again, but this time not 100% Raw. I decided to go 75% Raw which is basically eating 1 cooked meal a day. Everything else is Raw EASY TO PREPARE gourmet style foods. But, that was not enough. I needed to be ACTIVE as well. I wanted that lifestyle. So, I joined Team BeachBody.
And so now, MY CRUSADE BEGINS!
Now, I just want to share my Raw Food Recipes with the world and encourage people to join me in Team Beachbody so they too can transform their life both physically and financially.
