Do you struggle with getting motivated to go to the gym? Don’t worry, you are not alone! I know that was one of my biggest excuses for not working out before I got started with my own fitness journey. But, then I found out about the Top Work Out Videos and my life changed forever!

The problem for me was that I live in NYC and as I’m sure you know, it gets really cold outside. Who wants to go to the gym in the freezing cold and leave the gym sweaty and sticky just to go out in the cold again? Not me. I dreaded that! And the though of being around a germ infested environment, touching machines with other people’s sweat on it just gave me the hee-bee-jee-bees! YUCK! That was enough motivation for me to seek out information (just like you are right now) about the “Top Work Out Videos” that I can do in the comfort of my own home.

Let me explain…

You see, in a nutshell, we don’t need expensive gym memberships to start working out. We don’t need to spend a fortune to try to live a healthy lifestyle and to improve our fitness. You can simple do that with solid programs that are designed to get you specific, proven results.

First things first, when choosing a top work out video that is best for you, you need to look at your current lifestyle and decide how much time you have on a daily basis to add a workout routine to your already busy schedule. 2) What short my short term goals? (i.e. I want to lost 5 pounds, I want to feel more energized, I want to start eating healthy, etc.)

3) What are your long term goals? (i.e I want to lose 50lbs, I want to run a 5k marathon, etc.)

Knowing the answers to these questions will help you determine what kind of program is right for you.

“Schedule for Workout” – How To Schedule A Workout Around Your Busy Life

People always ask me this question…”How Do I Create A Schedule For Workout Around My Busy Lifestyle?”

Unfortunately, there is no solid answer to this question because everyone’s schedule for workout will be different. However, I can give you some suggestions and tell you how I work my schedule my workouts around my busy schedule and hopefully this post will inspire you to create your own that works best for you.

First of all, to develop your own schedule for workout can be daunting unless you know exactly how to workout….and honestly, unless you are some fitness expert or guru, then I would suggest you get an at home workout DVD program. This way, you don’t have to worry about rushing in and out of the gym. I personally hate going to the gym. With my business schedule, it’s easier for me to just pop in a DVD program into my DVD player and just follow along with a Celebrity Trainer, just like the ones that we have here at Team Beachbody.

First, what really helped me when I got started, was trying to figure out what was important in my life, how to illuminate the things that were not important (such as watching TV, Hanging out too much, etc.).

So, here is a simple getting started list to help you narrow these important things down and how to organize them:

Schedule for Workout – Step 1: List The Important Things

Before you try to figure out a “schedule for workout”, you need to first write down a list of important things that you have to do on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

DAILY Monday – Friday (EXAMPLE):

  • Work/Business
  • Transportation time
  • Homework with kids
  • Family Time
  • Dinner
  • Clean up
  • Spouse Time (there is a difference between FAMILY time and SPOUSE time. NEVER mix the two.)
  • Schedule for Workout (4-6 days per week)
As you can see, these are things that most people have to do on a daily basis. There is no running from these things in our lives. We MUST do them every single day.
WEEKLY (EXAMPLE):
  • Sports
  • Hobbies
  • Conference Calls
  • Date night with spouse (again, don’t neglect this)
  • Family night
  • Laundry
MONTHLY (EXAMPLE)
  • Attend an event
  • Meet with team
  • Thorough house cleaning
  • Movies with Family
  • Dinner with friends

Schedule for Workout – Step 2: What Time Will You Accomplish The Important Things?

Once you have written down your list of things that are important to you in your life, you need to figure out a time of day or week or even month that you will do it. So for example, if you have a job or a home based business, you need to write down the hours that you will be working at your job or in your business. For Example: I work every day from 8:30 – 11:30am and then again from 7pm – 9:00pm in my home based business. In between that time I create my schedule for workout, for cleaning, for cooking dinner, for family, for my husband, etc.

So, simply write the time and day next to each of the things on your list. Here is another example:

DAILY Monday – Friday (EXAMPLE):

  • Work/Business (8:30am – 11:30am and 7:00pm – 9:00pm)
  • Schedule for Workout (4-6 days per week) (11:30am – 12:30pm)
  • Transportation time (this does not apply to me because I work from home ;-)
  • Homework with kids (3:30pm – 4:30pm)
  • Family Time (4:30pm – 5:30pm)
  • Dinner (5:30pm – 6:30pm)
  • Clean up (6:30pm – 7:00pm)
  • Get kids ready for bed (9:00pm – 9:30pm)
  • Spouse Time (1:00pm – 2:30pm) & (9:30pm – 11:30pm)
As you can see, these are things that most people have to do on a daily basis. There is no running from these things in our lives. We MUST do them every single day. The schedule above is MY schedule. It’s work I do pretty much every day. Notice that I’ve included my schedule for workout in my daily to do list. If you want to get the best results, you MUST schedule this in. The WEEKLY and MONTHLY schedule you will do the same exact thing.

Schedule for Workout – Step 3: Put It On Your Calendar

Now that you have written down the important things in your life on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and figure out the times that you will accomplish these goals, you need to now put them on your calendar.

Make them REAL! When you organize your life in a way that fits you best, you will get more things done and will never slack on anything in your life. It’s an awesome system!!! :-) And you can work this simply by following the 3 simple steps above.

So, your workouts are now on your calendar. But, what exactly are you going to do within this 30 minutes or an hour that you have schedule for your workouts? My recommendation for a schedule for workout is to do what I did to make life easier….and that was to get a program that is already designed to get you RESULTS.

How many times have you went the the gym and worked on different machines and did not know for sure what you were doing or if you were going to get results with that routine?

And how many times have you worked out from home doing your own thing without seeing any REAL results? I know I know!! I’ve been there too. I went to the gym…lost and confused. I tried working out from home doing crunches and squats and even worked out with a few dumbells. Of course with very little results.
